Frequently Asked Questions

We already have a marketing team. Where do you fit in?

Most marketing teams are strong on creative and commercial and that's exactly what they should be focused on. Where things break down is when compliance knowledge isn't documented clearly enough to travel to new hires, freelancers, or agencies. I work alongside your existing team rather than replacing any part of it. Typically that means either getting your product pages into a defensible state, building guardrails your team can work from, or sense-checking copy before it goes live at scale.

We work with a copywriter/agency already. Can you work with them too?

Yes, and this is often where I add the most value. Copywriters and agencies are rarely equipped to make regulatory judgements about supplement claims. That's not a criticism, it's just outside their remit. I can work directly with your existing suppliers to review copy before it's finalised, or provide them with documented guidance on what's in and out of bounds for your specific products so they're not guessing.

We're already running ads. What if some of our claims are exposed?

This comes up more than you'd think. The first step is understanding exactly where the exposure sits and how significant it is, which is what the PDP Diagnostic is designed to establish. From there you can make an informed decision about whether to address it proactively or document your current position and substantiation. Running at scale with exposed claims isn't always an emergency, but it's worth knowing what you're working with before a competitor or regulator looks closely.

How do you approach risk? Do you just tell us what we can't say?

No, and this is an important distinction. I map where the risk sits and what it would take to defend a claim if challenged, then give you the options. Some brands decide to strengthen their substantiation. Some decide the risk is acceptable and want to document that decision responsibly. Often a small wording shift removes the exposure without any commercial impact. What you do with that information is your call. My job is to make sure you have what you need to decide.

We're investing in literature reviews or early clinical work. Can you help us talk about it?

Yes, and getting this right early matters. How you reference research in your marketing is tightly governed, and the gap between what the science shows and what you're allowed to claim based on it is often wider than brands expect. I can help you work out what your research actually allows you to say, how to reference it compliantly, and how to use it to build credibility without creating regulatory exposure.

What does a typical project look like and how long does it take?

Most projects start with a PDP Diagnostic on a specific SKU, which is a written assessment delivered within a few working days. Larger projects such as full PDP rebuilds or claims mapping across a product range are scoped individually based on what's involved. If you have a specific deadline — a campaign launch, a retail pitch, a fundraising round — get in touch early and we'll work backwards from it.
